Just Out Here Minding My Business… and Taking Notes π
Inspiration, for me, lives in everyday life. It’s in the grocery store when someone is arguing with a self-checkout machine like it personally offended their family. It’s in the parking lot when a person commits to a turn signal but never actually turns. It’s in the quiet moments too—like when I’m at home, thinking I’m having a normal day, and then suddenly I’m eating something questionable and wondering how I got here. Again.
But let’s not pretend we’re not going to talk about the real MVP here: people watching. Listen… I’m not saying I’m judging, I’m just saying I’m observing with enthusiasm. There is a difference. You ever sit somewhere—coffee shop, waiting room, anywhere with chairs—and just watch the world unfold? It’s like live, unscripted entertainment, and nobody knows you’re part of the audience.
People watching is where the magic happens. It’s the couple having a full-blown silent argument with just eye contact. It’s the person dressed like they’re going to three completely different events at once. It’s the conversations you accidentally overhear that make you pause and think, “Wait… what?” You can’t make this stuff up, and honestly, why would I when it’s being delivered to me in real time?
The truth is, inspiration doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t require a perfectly curated life or some big, dramatic moment. It’s already happening all around you—you just have to pay attention (and maybe have a slightly nosy spirit, but we’re not going to label it like that).
So if you’ve ever wondered where my posts come from, the answer is simple: life is out here being ridiculous, and I’m just taking notes.
