๐Ÿ”ง Weekend Warrior Diaries: Fence Stains, Oil Changes, and Getting Stuff Done

A confident woman with short gray hair stands in front of a backyard fence she is staining. She’s holding a paintbrush, wearing a dark t-shirt and hoop earrings, with a warm smirk that says, “Handled it.”
Some people relax on the weekend.

Me? I suit up in my “can’t ruin this” clothes, channel my inner Home Depot deity, and get things DONE.

๐Ÿชต Operation: Fence Staining

Let me set the scene:

  • One gallon of opaque red stain

  • One brush

  • One roller

  • One woman on a mission

Was it glamorous? No.
Was it a workout? Oh, absolutely.
Did I question my choices halfway through and wonder if it would’ve been easier to just build a moat instead of maintaining a fence? …Maybe.

But you know what? I did it.
And now my fence looks like it belongs in a fall Pinterest board — strong, bold, and possibly judging the neighbor’s landscaping.

๐Ÿ›ข️ Oil Change Adventures

Next up: giving the car some love. I rolled up like I was about to change it myself (spoiler alert: I didn’t), but I knew what I needed and got it done without any “Do you want to upgrade your blinker fluid?” nonsense.

There’s something satisfying about crossing off the annoying adulting tasks.
You don’t get a trophy, but you do get to feel like you’ve got your life together.
(And that’s almost better than a trophy… almost.)

๐Ÿ› ️ Tools Were Acquired

You know you're in your “don’t mess with me” era when the highlight of your week is buying stain and asking about power tools without blinking.
I don’t flirt at Home Depot — I price compare. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

And if you saw me in old jeans and a white tee looking confident and getting second glances from the staff? No, you didn’t. ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿง˜‍♀️ Balance? I Built That Too

I still made space for coffee, dog cuddles, and writing blog posts (three, to be exact — hi!).

Because balance isn't just yoga and self-care baths. Sometimes it's powering through tasks so your future self can relax without a to-do list hanging over her head like a broken smoke detector.

So here’s to the weekend warriors:
The stain-splattered, oil-changing, tool-hauling women who get. it. done.
We might not make it look easy, but we make it look finished.
